Lachie has just started finding the fun in having a bath. He can sit up, with a little assistance, and loves to splash all about.
Last week at Mums group it seems Lachie got a bit close to one of the other kids, and this closeness gave him girl germs. We’ll maybe not girl germs, but at least he picked up the flu. Blocked nose and a bit grumpy.
He’s soldiered through it like a trooper, only a few times winging, which is much less than dad. Now the 3 of us have it, Mum picked it up on Saturday, and Dad Sunday night. So there are now 3 noses running like taps (got the visual) but at least we can get over it together.
If only Lachie was older, and he could let us go to bed, bring us soup… You know all the sickey person things.
The geek I am keeps finding really cool things on the interweb, and todays site allows you to create videos simply by picking some pictures and adding in some music. The result, a simple short video of my little man.
So as usual dad is slack in updating the website, but I think he has an excuse this time. You see its usually the weekends that these updates happen, there’s time to go through all the photos and find some good ones, and then the effort of actually posting them. But recently we’ve been out and about for the weekends. It doesn’t really stop this weekend either, but there is a few hours Saturday morning to get some posts updated.
There is now 3 new posts about the Easter trip, AJ and Jo’s wedding, and some recent Lachie photos.
But I guess its time for some status update stuff.
I’m not sure where the last update was at, but the little dude is now 7.5 months old, he had his 6 month jabs a fair while ago, and when he had his 6 month checkup he was up to 7.2kg, 65cm in length and his big head had got to 42,5cm.
He’s now on solids two times a day, having tried sweet potato, pumpkin and starting on some brocolii. He really wants to eat now, and any chance he is near food (especially that which you are eating) he reaches out and wants it in his gob.
He’s still not crawling, but makes his way around by rolling a lot. He loves to stand up, grab his hands and his legs push him up so he can jump and dance around.
He’s still sleeping pretty well, losing more and more of his daily sleep time, but is solid from 10pm till 7am each night.
What else is there to know.. He had a great time away, but I think all the movement on the weekends is catching up with him, we haven’t had a weekend without even for a long time, and since easter its been crazy.
We had the long easter weekend away, from Thursday till Monday, then the following week was out to Lilydale for Jake’s 1st birthday, then in to the city for dinner with Mark and Leonie for their engagement, then on Sunday off to Hoppers for Alanah’s 2nd birthday. Then the following weekend (5-6) we headed up to Alex for AJ and Jo’s wedding and stayed the night at the Purcells farm.
At least this weekend we only have some photos at 2pm Saturday and then Michael James’ 21st that night.
So thats the excuse, busy little bees around here, but all in all things are going well, we’re all doing great and the little man is taking it all in his stride.
Hope to see all of you soon.
Lachie has a new playpen to help limit the amount of rolling into things. But on this day he was happy to just sit around looking cool.

On the weekend we headed up to Yea to see AJ and Jo get married. The service was held in the Sacred Heart church in yea, with the reception to follow at Stonela that night.
We stayed at the Purcell’s farm the night, and some fun was had on the Sunday with some target practice.
As with the easter photos, more photos are available on the gallery site.
